If you have a SCSI scanner that you are installing or if you are having trouble initializing your SCSI scanner, you will need to install the ASPI layer software. This is included on the installation CD, or can be obtained from the adaptec website.
To install ASPI for win98, winMe, win2000, or winNT
simply double click on the aspiinst.exe in the ASPI\aspi_471a2 from the EZ-Scan CD to run the install.
To install ASPI for winXP you will need to run ASPI from the command line, using the run dialog box.
Click the 'Start' button on the taskbar, then 'Run'. This will open the 'Run' dialog box.
Using the 'Browse' button select install.bat from the ASPI\aspi_471a2 folder on the EZ-Scan CD.
Add a space and 'XP' with no quotes after the filename. Click 'OK' to run the install.

You will need to reboot your PC to complete the installation.
If your scanner came with a driver installation CD, install the drivers for your specific scanner. Not all scanners will have an install CD.
You can also install the drivers for a scanner by going to Start>Control Panel>Add Hardware. Windows will run a new Hardware wizard which will step you through installing the drivers for your scanner.
The drivers for the TS200 are included on the EZ-Scan CD in the following folders:
TS200/205
DCC\TS200-205\w98-wXP\ or DCC\TS200-205\WinNT4\
Choose the correct ones for your operating system.
TS210/215/230
DCC\Tellerscan\w98-wXP\
Tellescan SCSI Scanners
DCC\SCSI\
The drivers for most Canon scanners are included on the EZ-Scan CD in the Canon folder. If the drivers for your scanner are not included on the EZ-Scan CD, check the Canon website for drivers.

Possible problems and solutions:
Double check all cables and connections
Make sure the scanner is attached and powered on before the PC is started. Restart you PC if the scanner was attached while the PC was running.
SCSI scanners may have a problem with the ASPI layer. See installing ASPI above to reinstall ASPI.
You can optimize the initialization in the EZScan.ini file. The EZScan.ini is located in the C:\Windows\ directory. Under the [Scanner] heading remove the semi colon from the scanner that you are using. If you are using a SCSI scanner, remove the semi colon from the Type=400 and add it to ;Type=200. If you are using the a USB scanner remove the semi colon from the Type=200 and add it to the ;Type=400 entry.
